其内部故障，如绕组砸间或层间短路，线圈对围屏放电、内部引线接头发热、铁芯多点接地使涡流增大过热，零序不平衡电流等漏磁通过与铁件油箱形成回路而发热等因素引起变压器温度异常。发生这些情况时，还将伴随着瓦斯或差动保护动作。故障严重时，还有可能使防爆管或压力释放阀喷油，这时应立即将变压器停用检修。

变压器在运行过程中油位异常和渗漏油现象比较普遍，应不定期的进行巡视与检查，其中主要表现为以下两方面。

一、 假油位：油标管堵塞；油枕吸管器堵塞；防爆管道气孔堵塞。
